Le Groupe Jenaco has been awarded a new contract for the construction of a 27-storey building in a TOD (Transit-oriented development) neighbourhood. The building mechanics contractor, specializing in piping, has been entrusted with the plumbing and gas contract for the Sir Charles Condominiums project, located in Longueuil’s new city centre.
This new collaboration with Édyfic Construction and the promoter Groupe Devimco shows great confidence in Le Groupe Jenaco’s expertise in high-rise buildings and sustainable development. “Our whole team finds participating in projects that promote an ecological approach to the construction of living environments for the present and for the future very exciting. We are happy to continue our partnership with players who have a drive for innovative concepts that will shape our built heritage,” said Jean Turgeon, founder and president.
The Sir Charles building includes 336 contemporary condominiums, common areas, and a basilaire for local shops. It includes architectural features of the industrial era with a contemporary touch inspired by the prestigious hotels of Brooklyn and Manhattan.
A team is already onsite working on the plumbing and natural gas mandate, which should be completed in August 2023. At various key moments, there will be around twenty pipefitters working on the project .
